Mail a check online without a printer

Justin WinterBy · Updated October 20, 2026

The short answer

paperplane prints and mails the document you upload. If that document is a check, it goes out in a sealed envelope like any other letter. We do not write, sign, cash or deposit the check, and we do not move money. A First-Class letter is $0.99; Certified Mail is $12.99 when you want USPS to record the mailing and delivery.

How it works

  1. Save the check as a PDF. If the recipient also needs a letter or an invoice, include it in the same file so everything prints and mails together.
  2. Add the recipient. Enter the mailing address. We check it against USPS data before you pay.
  3. Pick a mail class. First-Class is $0.99. Certified is $12.99 when you want a dated USPS mailing record and tracking.
  4. We mail the envelope. We print the file and hand it to USPS the next business day. The recipient gets paper in a mailbox, not an electronic payment.

Who it is for

  • A landlord, contractor or office asks for a paper check by mail.
  • You have the check already and no printer, envelope or stamp.
  • You want the check to travel with a short letter in the same envelope.

When it is not the right tool

  • You want the check signed, issued or deposited for you. paperplane only prints and mails the file you provide.
  • You need to move money today. A bank transfer or a payment app is a different tool.
  • You need confirmation that the recipient cashed the check. USPS tracking shows delivery, not clearing.

Questions before you send

If something goes wrong, do I pay?

If we cannot mail the letter, the hold on your card is released and you are not charged. If a letter fails after your card is charged, you are refunded automatically and in full.

Does paperplane cash or deposit the check?

No. paperplane prints and mails the document you upload. The check stays a piece of paper in an envelope, and the recipient handles it like any other mailed check.

Can paperplane sign the check for me?

No. Upload a check that already carries any signature it needs. We do not sign, endorse or alter the document. Rules vary by state.

Can I include an invoice or a letter with the check?

Yes. Put both in the same PDF, up to 12 pages, so they print and mail as one letter.

How do I know the envelope arrived?

Add USPS tracking to a First-Class letter for $0.99, or send it Certified for a dated mailing record and delivery scans. Tracking shows delivery, not whether the check was deposited.
