An online mailing service for one letter or a thousand
By Justin Winter · Updated October 17, 2026
The short answer
paperplane prints, stamps and mails your letter through USPS. Upload a PDF or paste text, preview the exact pages free, and pay $0.99 for a First-Class letter, $12.99 for Certified Mail. Postage, paper and the envelope are included, and you do not need an account.
How it works
- Add your letter. Upload a PDF or paste your text. The preview shows the exact pages that will print.
- Enter the addresses. We check the recipient address against USPS data before you pay, so a typo is caught before anything is printed.
- Pay one all-in price. Your card is charged only after the letter passes screening. If we cannot mail it, the hold is released.
- We hand it to USPS. We print and hand the letter to USPS the next business day, then email you the tracking when the service includes it.
What it costs
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| First-Class letter | $0.99 |
| Certified Mail | $12.99 |
| Certified Mail with electronic Return Receipt | $14.99 |
| Priority Mail | $24.99 |
Who it is for
- You have one document to mail and do not want a printer, a stamp or a trip to the post office.
- You need a dated USPS record that the letter was sent.
- You want an AI agent or a script to send it and a person to approve the exact total first.
When it is not the right tool
- You are sending marketing mail in bulk or to addresses outside the US.
- You need the lowest possible Certified Mail price and own a printer; label services cost less.

Questions before you send
If something goes wrong, do I pay?
If we cannot mail the letter, the hold on your card is released and you are not charged. If a letter fails after your card is charged, you are refunded automatically and in full.
Do I need an account to send mail online?
No. You can preview and send a single letter without one. An account only matters if you want saved addresses or an API key.
Is this the same as a virtual mailbox?
No. A virtual mailbox receives and scans your incoming mail. paperplane sends outgoing mail.
Can I send many letters at once?
Yes, through the API or a CSV mail merge. See the mail merge API page for the bulk path.
